Not all injectables are insulin. Your doctor might prescribe another type of injectable from the GLP 1 RA Medicine group. These medicines include:
Liraglutide (Victoza®)
Exenatide (Byetta®/Bydureon®)
Lixasenatide (Lyxumia®)
Dulaglutide (Trulicity®)
Semaglutide (Ozempic®)
These medicines lower blood sugar by the way they work on the pancreas, gut, liver and the brain. These are smart medicines that work when you eat. If you do not eat your meals at the same time every day, this might be a great option for you. They may be taken either daily and/or weekly. They can be used with insulin and/or other oral medications. These medicines may cause weight loss.
