Dealing with stress and diabetes

The things you have to take care of and do can cause you stress. If you or a loved one has diabetes, stress can make it harder to take care of yourself and control your blood sugar. How you deal with these things can change how you feel and act. When should you get help for your stress?

  • When you want to talk to someone
  • When your feelings are more than you can handle
  • When you want new ideas about how to deal with stress
  • When you think you have tried everything and nothing is working
  • When your family or friends think you need help
  • When your thoughts or actions start to cause problems in your life
